Alvarinho is a white variety, original from the Upper Minho, in Portugal, and Rias Baixas, in Spain, separated one each other by Minho river. For centuries this aromatic variety was well known domestically. More recently, with the development of the exports of the Iberic wines, Alvarinho started to be known abroad, with an immediate acceptance by consumers of other markets. The aromatic complexity, some times with a dominant fruity character, other times with a wonderful combination of fruity and floral notes make them extremely pleasant and delicate. A balanced acidity adds the freshness that most consumers also look for in white wines.

Viticulture: Low trellises with strict leaf canopy management to regulate the exposure of the grapes to the sun.

Vinification: Grapes were transported to the winery, lightly pressed and fermented cool in stainless steel tanks at between 15 and 18 degrees. Selected yeasts were added to start the fermentation.

Tasting Note: Mineral notes combined with apple, plums and peach. A wonderfully fresh, fruity flavour with buttery tones through to a long and aromatic finish.

Every day serving suggestion: Salads, perfect with fish and seafood, also as an aperitif.
