One of the major and largest vine growing businesses in Europe, Frescobaldi owns nine estates covering over 1,000 ha of vineyards, all located in excellent areas for fine wines. Directly manager by its family members, Frescobaldi produces almost 7 million bottles and the wines are exported to over 60 countries throughout the world. The Frescobaldi name goes back many centuries into the history of art, culture, trade and finance of Italy in general and Tuscany in particular. Viticulture: Spur pruned cordon trained vines planted at a density between 2,800 vines per hectare and 5,500 per hectare.

Vinification: The grapes were softly pressed. Fermentation took place at 25C in stainless steel tanks lasting 10 days. Maceration on skins lasted 12 days. The wine did not go though malolactic fermentation. The wine was aged for 4 months in stainless steel tanks followed by 1 month in bottle prior to release.

Tasting Note: ""Caletta"" rose, made from the Merlot grape, has a full bouquet with hints of tropical fruit. The wine is well-balanced, rich and full-bodied with a tangy acidity that beautifully complements the velvet-smooth fruit.
